Rider Types
Conventional
Basic riding, comparable to an easy (family) ride.
Intermediate
Riding somewhat more agressive than an easy ride, on trail but within trail limitations.
Aggressive
As the name implies, this rider is seeking challenging terrain/conditions to push his abilities.
Extreme
This type of riding is reserved forprofessionals. This usually includes high speeds and narrow turns.
The more aggressive the driving, the more a rider will expect enhenced surface control between the machine and the surface. As the rider increases speed, his need for added adherence to the ground to reduce sliding out of control while negociating turns will increase.
Understanding the use of runners and carbide points
To determine the amount of runner control, we need to determine runner length matched with the length, width and angle (square or rhombus) of carbides required.
The width of our carbide edges are generally between 1/8"and 3/16".Increasing the carbide width has the effect of increasing wear resistance. Since the wider carbides require somewhat wider runners, runners with 3/16" carbides are slightly more expensive. |
